Introduction
My name is Hillary Wilson, and I am in the Education Doctoral Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program in Fall of 2018 and will graduate summer of 2020. I graduated from Grand Valley State University (MI) in 2008 with a BacheIor's degree in Biology. After graduation, I continued working in the Humane Society Education program. After three years of teaching humane education programs at area K-12 schools, I began the Graduate Teacher Certification Program at Grand Valley State University. I earned my teaching certificate in the Spring of 2012. Immediately after, I moved from Michigan to Georgia and began teaching at Lassiter High School. I continued my Master's degree via online courses through Grand Valley and graduated with my Master's degree in Instruction & Curriculum in April of 2014. I went back to school to pursue my specialist in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University and completed that degree in December of 2016.
I currently teach biology & STEM biology to 9th grade students and Zoology to 12th grade students at Lassiter High School in Cobb County. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Specialist Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology and now the doctoral program. My ultimate goal is to obtain a job as a technology coach.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
