It's amazing how much a little technology integration can change classroom engagement!! After reworking an old "around the world station rotation" into a technology-based lesson plan, the results were phenomenal! The best part? The kids loved every step of it! I absolutely loved your lesson! It totally ties into what I am teaching my 3rd graders right now in regards to recycling, reusing, and reducing to help conserve our natural resources and protect our earth from pollution. It was awesome to see how the foundation I lay as an elementary school teacher eventually develops at the high school level in regards to your essential question about how humans can impact the diversity and stability of an ecosystem. I really like how you set them up with the rubrics and what they were expected to do on your website. Utilizing the Google Drive was great to incorporate collaboration among your students, so that they could work on it simultaneously and add to each other’s content. I also like how you gave choice to the final product whether it was a blog, website, or movie for the students to show what they learned.

Wow! Great work on the lesson plan! The authentic learning experience you gave your students was evidence of the time and energy you spent on the design of your project. The use of Schoology for content acquisition worked very well with your lesson, content, and student population. The Google Drive was a great way to allow students to collaborate with one another inside and outside of class. The final product of a website or blog was a great choice and allowed students to have the authentic task of creating something that a select audience would view. It made me think of different ways to use these tools in my classroom.
